The use of NSAIDs helps reduce the risks of the troubling and at times painful Hand-Foot Syndrome in patients using the oral chemo pill Capecitabine (also know as Xeloda). In particular the topical NSAID – Diclofenac Gel was used in this study, where others have also used Celebrex orally with success as well. The topical option worked very well and appeared to be well tolerated on the body. As a result less treatment interruptions due to less raw or painful hands and feet which is a win win. #xeloda #capecitabine #NSAID
